The Bargello Quilt design is actually based on a needlepoint technique consisting of upright flat stitches laid in a mathematical pattern to create motifs. The name originates from a series of chairs found in the Bargello palace in Florence, which have a "flame stitch" pattern.
Bargello quilts are constructed with accurately cut strips of fabric, sewn together of the same height but different widths. Many consider Bargello designs particularly challenging.  The technique itself is very simple , by sewing strips of fabric create a tube turn sideways then cut into various widths and moving the strips up or down one step at a time to  create a dramatic sweeping curves . The bargello quilt shifts colors to create curves and movement pattern through out the quilt top.
The only things  that may be  difficult about the bargello quilt, is to keep track of your fabric number , sewing and exact ¼ inch seam allowance , and cutting as accurately as possible . With rotary cutters , rulers and mats this should be simple.
