How do I get my cat to stop scratching the curtain?

My cat (I used) was trained by his previous cat owner in the leaves, so I never learned to use the litter to cover their pee. I finally managed to change the bed sheets, but now the cat's paws in the shade close after urination - he apparently knows how to move, but not understand the meaning. I cut off cats nails every week, not enough time for holes in the fabric, but the curtains are nice and I want you to stop so you do not wear down. What do you suggest?

Suggest Move the litter box in a cupboard unused or a safer place. My cat also. I had many of choice in the sandbox if I had had a small section of cardboard and covered with aluminum foil to put on the curtain I could not lower the curtain. Quit smoking. I have my cats the nails trimmed, but I do it myself with a pair of scissors normal. Simply connect the clip ends and in recovery.
