Six simple steps to start Cross Stitching
Cross stitch is so based. It also gives a great sense of accomplishment and pride to show off your finished pieces. Best of all, it is so easy to learn.
There are two types of cross stitch:
1. Cross Stitch Counted
This guy has a model to follow.
2. Stamped Cross Stitch (Cross Stitch Count No.)
Such a design has been pre-printed fabric.
Each square in the model contains a symbol point. Different symbols represent different colors of floss.
There are six steps to start the Cross Stitch:
1. Find the center of the graph.
For most of the cons-stitch patterns, this is indicated by arrows or a bold line.
2. Find the center of your canvas.
This means that sometimes the fabric in half vertically and "pinch" with your finger to a small fold. Open the fabric, fold in half horizontally and make another decision. "Open the fabric. The two folds marks the center of the canvas.
3. High Cross near the design center seam.
This makes it easier to frame the finished piece.
4. Bring the needle threaded the back of the canvas.
Stitch another 5 or 6 stitches on the tail. They cut the extra wire.
5. Do no tail loose.
Weave your needle through the last 5 or 6 stitches and watching over the short to not leave a loose tail.
6. Never make a knot in the back web.
Do not make a knot on the back of the fabric to the beginning or end of your sewing, as nodes are blocks in the material and not allow the piece to bed.
Remember to relax as you point and does not pull the thread too tight. Your stitches must lie flat on your fabric and not distort the holes or the fabric.
When you wash your sewing is complete in cold water with liquid detergent smooth. Do not squirm, but roll in a clean towel to absorb most of the water. While still damp, place face down on towel. Place another cloth on top of the needle and press lightly with a hot iron. Let dry. Then frame or finish of your choice.
