Art, design and environment. This was a subject of our recent event Jean Albano Gallery in downtown Chicago. Ron Goldstein, associate broker with Prudential Real Estate Rubloff and spoke to me briefly what it is affecting three our moods, our lives and our future. As an interior designer, I want to incorporate both the art and the environment in my plans. I always reflect the personality of my client's lifestyle and customize your design needs, but there are standard items and always try to integrate.

Durable materials.

Interior design with sustainability in mind is really choose the right materials. Sustainable materials can be found in almost anything these days - from fabrics floor with works of art hung wall. Using bamboo flooring from oak is a perfect example. It takes 120 years for the harvest compared to the oak three years, it takes bamboo harvest. For fabrics and upholstery could use organic cotton, hemp and modal. Artists today use recycled materials and is more than ever to create interesting art, earth friendly.

Color.

A technique you can use green to paint the walls a lighter color lighten the room and reflect more natural light entering the room during the day. But that does not mean that your home should be simple and boring. The bright colors, I do not mean to off-white and beige. Vanilla is out! Sure to tie the colors of the walls in light colors and bold designs interesting. Plan Your relationships between colors in a systematic manner. Lighting.

As we all know we should use CFL (compact fluorescent lamps) now instead of the old bulbs, but to add efficiency energy even more sensors and / or voltage regulators in all lighting throughout the house. This not only creates a warm, save on electricity bills too.

Water.

rational Water is another important factor to consider when creating a sustainable internal. Fortunately, a lot of style and luxury should not be abandoned for reasons of efficiency of water. Faucets and toilets are considered as works of art in your home.

Local.

In addition, always search for local products and materials manufactured. This can save a lot of embodied energy used in the manufacture, transport and packaging of products and support your local eco-culture.
