Quilt Block Top

Would you add a photo to your quilt that looked more like a part of the structure of an iron on decal?
In the past, we iron-based photographic paper transfer our photo to our quilt. Have you heard directly to garment printing? This is great how to get your favorite photo of your laptop and your quilt.
Direct-to-(garment DTG) printing is a printing form Digital. At a cost of approximately $ 20,000 is not practical to run out and buy their own DTG printer. Typical price for DTG printing is $ 8 $ 10.
This process is somewhat more expensive than the traditional method of image transfer. This is partly because technology is so new. If you decide to try an image on your block DTG quilt of memory, lots of things to look for in selecting the printer that works for you:
1. Make sure no chemicals needed to pre-treat the fabric first. Some DTG printers create an image that looks more like screen printing. You do not want to be seen or felt in your quilt. The ink will be difficult in the upper fabric and the time (sometimes much sooner than later) will begin using crack and washes. Ask your printer for a prospective sample of something they have printed. If you can smell the ink raised above the surface in any manner whatsoever, it is likely that a process that requires a form of sublimation chemical pretreatment tissue.
2. DTG uses a form of digital printing offers the Brother GT 541. No chemicals required for the pretreatment of tissue. The ink a link and natural fibers are heat treated to fix the image. The inks are water based, which helps to leave a smooth image net in its web.
A few drops of use DTG printing in their quilt blocks. One obstacle is the limitations of color. Since DTG is a printing form to a digital printer, no white ink. White is the absence of color. This means that you can not print a photo on navy blue cloth or black.
Digital printing fabric or garment is a CMYK - cyan, magenta, yellow and black. You can mix colors to obtain a full spectrum of color accuracy - and not just black. It DTG printers white ink, but most of them are pre chemical fabric and leave you with the impression surface thickness.
You must use a neutral color, light or fabric must be cotton or cotton blend. The fabric must be capable of withstanding 350 degrees for about 30 seconds. If it does not work 100 percent cotton or a 50/50 mixture, ask your printer if the fabric will work.
Print size can be a limitation. Most printers have Field DTG printing 14 inches x 16 inches. For most of the weavers of this caliber will not be a problem.
And speaking areas of printing, here's a hint. More direct garment printing office for a 14x16 area. If your case is allowed 2 or 3 images to fit within that range, you can get them all printed by the price of one. Check with your printer to see if possible with your particular project.
As the most advanced technology, the price of digital garment (or fabric) printing will probably diminish over time. It may not even be available in printers smaller for household and personal. Until then, see if you can find a DTG printer for your next picture in the quilt project. The results seem custom fabric, which is a great touch to one of a kind quilt!

Can anyone help with basic quilting?
I never made a quilt before, but I'm good at sewing and stuff. I 'm confused because I reported on it online and websites are so disorganized and unclear. What should I do for each individual block with a high stick and a back and connect all the blocks together? or to the entire top of the quilt with blocks of material, then place the stick to any part of the top, then a turn? And what is the best way to unite the individual blocks together, if the method and I want to use a sewing machine?
The great thing about quilting is that you can do as wanting. Quiltmakers traditional upper part of the sandwich first, then all the batters and support, quilt, cut the excess and support staff, and then put in the link. They may do all or part of it by hand or by machine. To provide broad coverage coverage, you must either: a. push and pull in ordinary sewing machine, which is very difficult for a beginner (and Quilters also more experience) b. have half of the arm - or the long arm machine frame configuration, which can be expensive, or c. send to be piqued by someone else, they can also be added. To solve the problems of the quilt a quilt together, people have found ways to break it down into small sections "quiltable, two blocks, strips or medallions and borders. There is an excellent book that covers all the different ways quilt of smaller sections, called "divide and conquer" opportunities (by Nancy Smith and Lynda Milligan). You may also "rag quilt" off-site to meet after quilting. Typically three layers of flannel (not stick). Places are simply stuffed (usually Only an X in a box) and then sewn together with a large seam, leaving the seam allowance on the visible side. Cut the fabric you are pasting and lint-free wash. It'sa great way to make a quick and casual shooting. There are many ways to accomplish each step Quilting - by emphasis on making some easier, some focus only on what is most accurate. I recommend selecting a few books top quilting. The best by Fons & Porter Quilter's Guide complete. "This is often used in classrooms, and covers almost everything you need to know about mulch. You can also get your magazine, "Love Fons & Porter Quilt" - found in many grocery stores and has a wide range of projects. Alex Anderson can also try "Start Quilting" is the top book in my class used. If you have the opportunity to take a class, it's worth the expense. There is nothing like having someone who knows what they are available to explain things. Otherwise, check online QNNTV - is 24 hours per Day of quilting videos. Also, learn some of the Yahoo groups patchwork. There are thousands, and I am sure there are some that you like. If you wish, Please write me through my profile page - just click on your avatar or name, and then "swbiblio click on email." Thus, the Once our email address is kept private. I like giving my opinion (really!), And I have been quilting for several years. If you do not know response, you can probably find. Good luck - Quilting is a passion!
