Quilt Blocks Quilting

Several years ago, I decided I would explore the world of fabric dyeing. In the dyeing of fabrics that I really learned about color, and the difference between yellow-green and blue-green.
Mixing colors to make the dye, suddenly, the resulting colors more sense, and now, many yards of dyed fabric later, it is easier for me to choose the colors of the quilt.
In fact, seeing how color is the result of a mixture of 1 / 4 yellow 3 / 4 red cons 1 / 2 yellow and 1 / 2 red, everything is more logical.
Interestingly, is that when I took the class, the teacher has provided the means to contrast the colors you see in the tissue samples below. I realized that red was the color magenta, rather than what they normally see red. (The teacher called fuchsia.)
And the blue was more of a turquoise rather than a traditional blue. But since everything was new to me anyway, I'm not really concerned differences.
It was just today, as it was once again thinking about color that I have encountered something of a explanation of the difference. Not that this is an explanation Herbert interest color began at an early age because his father has invented photography techniques and color half-tone process. These printing techniques pictures in newspapers and magazines made possible.
And Herbert created a color wheel is composed of three colors "pure". The true meaning of this is that fabric dyes, use the Ives color wheel, as was clear when I took the fabric dyeing class.
The three pure colors are: magenta, turquoise and yellow. The dynamism of these colors separately is remarkable, and when mixed with another special way, creating the colors of the most powerful and beautiful surroundings.
Quilts made primarily with these pure colors immediately attract attention if they are displayed in a quilt show or home.
When to choose the colors of a rug, you may wish to note that the intense colors can affect the mood of the people watching them. If you make a quilt for a child already has a high activity level, you may not want to use pure colors, because it would encourage even more children.
However, if you have a room dull and boring as all-around brown I had in my living room there for many years, adding color pure light part. In my case, I probably would have taken a truckload of pure colors to overwhelm brown.
These pure colors and their variations in the nature and it is interesting to note that if the colors are shades and nuances depending on the season. I know, probably not much.
But it works without this way. Dye has every color from white to pure color real. The cakes are good examples of colors and pastels are the colors of spring - Blue Robin's egg, peach, apricot, mint green, etc.
When you add black to a pure color, you get a color tone. As you can imagine, tones are the colors of autumn. When you add black to red, you get a rust color - shades of autumn leaves fall from trees.
A beep you get when you add gray (not black) to a pure color. These are the colors of winter, and are generally calming colors. These colors are ideal for bedrooms and quilts for children.
The real question in my mind is "who created the more traditional "color wheel and why?"
Happy Quilting!

How hard for a beginner to make a double size quilt block?
How would be difficult for a beginner to make a quilt double the size of boulders like those on this site? Http: / / www.potterybarnkids.com/products/bo40/index.cfm?pkey=rromboykwst love, but this quilt 160 over 32 of the farce that looks great and I wonder if I can do something similar for less (less than 100). I have a sewing machine, I am a beginner but I help my mother, who knows more about sewing, quilting but nothing. I also usually good for anyone What trade.
This quilt is a very easy to do and if you and your work with this mother should cost about $ 100 or less cost of materials used. The high will be about 7 meters @ 45 "wide. In Quilt Shop price should run $ 42 - $ 56 depending on the price per meter. Time sales and special offers. Batting is about $ 8.00 and the cost of support would be determined by what you want to use .... 6m @ 45 "wide. Verges less if the fabric is wider. Use the table and a calculator (link below) for quilt sizes and fabrics to determine the need for how much. Add .5 to block the final size will. It will be for 1 / 4 "seams used in sewing. Example: a finished 8" square reduced block size would be 8.5 "x 8.5". Use 43 "as the width of the fabric in the calculation sequence as the seams (on both sides of tissue) are removed and not used, if this reduces the normal width 45 "about 43". Banks are there to the manufacturing process, but they cause wrinkles when you sew, it is not removed .... do it for any sewing project. Chart and Calculator - http://www.quiltbug.com/Articles/fabric-calculator. htm This site is very useful for learn to make a quilt - http://www.sewaquilt.com/index.html Good luck and have fun with the project.
